Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 17, 2026

AIQuota is a native macOS app that helps you monitor Codex and Claude Code quota. This policy explains what AIQuota stores, what it reads, and what leaves your device.

What AIQuota accesses

Depending on which services you connect, AIQuota may access:

  • Your OpenAI session information used to read Codex quota data.
  • Your Anthropic or Claude session information used to read Claude Code quota data.
  • Quota-related account details such as usage windows, reset times, plan names, and credits.
  • Notification settings and UI preferences you choose inside the app.

How that information is used

AIQuota uses this information only to provide the app’s core functionality:

  • Show your current quota state in the menu bar and widgets.
  • Display reset timing, warning states, and plan details.
  • Send optional notifications when quota is low, critical, or reset.
  • Restore your connected services and preferences across launches.

AIQuota does not use your data for advertising, profiling, analytics resale, or marketing attribution.

Optional anonymous analytics

AIQuota includes an optional setting called “Share anonymous usage data.” This setting is off by default.

If you choose to enable it, AIQuota sends simple anonymous product metrics: app launch, daily active use, app version, service connection, and onboarding completion. These events may be processed by Google Firebase Analytics. They do not include prompts, auth tokens, cookies, or personal information.

Where data is stored

AIQuota is designed to keep data on-device whenever possible.

  • Sensitive session information is stored in the macOS Keychain.
  • App preferences and widget-facing state may be stored in local app storage or shared app group storage.
  • Cached quota values may be stored locally to support widgets and fast refreshes.

What leaves your device

AIQuota does not run its own hosted backend for quota tracking.

When AIQuota refreshes your status, requests are made directly from your device to the service you connected, such as OpenAI or Anthropic endpoints needed to retrieve quota-related account data.

Third parties

AIQuota relies on third-party services only where necessary to provide the app:

  • OpenAI, when you connect Codex-related quota tracking.
  • Anthropic, when you connect Claude Code quota tracking.
  • Google Firebase Analytics, only if you opt in to anonymous usage analytics.
  • Apple platform services used to run the app, widgets, notifications, and local secure storage.

Security

AIQuota uses platform-provided security features such as Keychain storage and HTTPS requests where applicable. No method of storage or transmission is perfect, but the app is designed to minimize unnecessary data handling and avoid introducing a separate AIQuota-operated backend.

Your choices

  • You can disconnect services inside the app.
  • You can disable notifications at any time.
  • You can leave anonymous analytics off, or change that choice later in Settings.
  • You can remove the app and its local data from your Mac.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as AIQuota changes. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
